Assurance Intern – Summer 2027 (San Jose) | BDO USA

• Team: Part of the Assurance practice, working with experienced team members
• Mission: Assist in problem-solving and fact-finding for clients while gaining practical experience and developing professional relationships.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
What You’ll Actually Do
• Learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Auditing Standards through a structured on-the-job training program.
• Support audit staff by utilizing BDO’s specific audit methodology across various stages of the audit process during engagements.
• Communicate directly with clients’ customers, creditors, banks, and related parties concerning audit issues.
• Prepare and document audit work accurately in working papers using BDO’s specific tools and templates.
• Complete an assigned accounting or audit related research project and present findings to a panel of Assurance professionals.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Accounting.
• Experience: No specific years required. Leadership experience is preferred.
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Bonus: Pursuing a Master’s degree in Accounting; actively pursuing school credits to become a CPA; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to follow instructions; ability to work effectively in a team setting; positive attitude and willingness to learn.
