Job Summary
We are actively seeking a motivated and analytical Indirect Procurement & Fleet Operations Intern to join and support our dynamic procurement team. This role is pivotal in managing strategic sourcing initiatives for indirect products and services, as well as overseeing the day-to-day operations of our fleet program. This internship offers invaluable hands-on experience in various critical areas including procurement, supplier management, contract analysis, and the operational management of a corporate fleet.
You will work closely with the Senior Sourcing Analyst, gaining direct exposure to real-world business challenges, collaborating extensively with internal stakeholders, and making tangible contributions to initiatives that drive significant cost savings and enhance operational efficiency across the organization.

How You Will Own It (Key Responsibilities)
Fleet Program Operations Support
- Daily Operations: Assist in the seamless day-to-day management of our corporate fleet program, covering all aspects from vehicle ordering and delivery to proactive maintenance scheduling.
- Process Coordination: Collaborate effectively with our fleet management partners and service providers to coordinate vehicle usage, ensure timely maintenance, and guarantee compliance with all operational standards.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze key fleet performance metrics, including vehicle utilization rates, adherence to maintenance schedules, and operational costs. Help identify and propose areas for process improvement and significant cost efficiencies.
- Operational Reporting: Prepare regular, comprehensive reports and dashboards on fleet performance, providing critical insights to inform strategic decision-making and necessary operational adjustments.
Indirect Sourcing & Procurement
- Project Support: Provide active assistance in strategic sourcing initiatives for a wide range of indirect products and services through meticulous supplier research, detailed bid analysis, and thorough contract reviews.
- Supplier Evaluation: Support the comprehensive evaluation of supplier proposals and gather competitive intelligence to help secure optimal terms and conditions for the company.
- Data Management: Maintain and update procurement databases diligently, ensuring accurate supplier records and precise tracking of all contracts and procurement activities.
- Communication: Coordinate and facilitate smooth communication and follow-ups between suppliers and various internal teams throughout the entire procurement process.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Data Insights: Analyze large and complex datasets to uncover critical trends and identify opportunities for significant cost savings across both fleet operations and indirect sourcing categories.
- Reporting: Assist in preparing comprehensive reports and impactful presentations that highlight sourcing performance, critical fleet operational metrics, and outcomes of supplier negotiations.
- Tool Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of dashboards and tracking tools designed to improve visibility into key procurement performance indicators (KPIs) and operational effectiveness.
What You’ll Bring (Qualifications)
- Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Economics, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven proficiency in Excel or other data visualization tools.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and professionally across various departments.
- Highly detail-oriented with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- A keen interest in procurement, fleet operations, and leveraging data for informed decision-making.
- Must be located in Charlotte, NC or surrounding areas and available to work in the office with a hybrid schedule.
