Job Description: Twist IBT Summer Fellowship Program

The Twist IBT Summer Fellowship is a quarter-long summer internship intended for upper-division students from top-tier undergraduate colleges and universities. It offers practical experience and insight into translating innovative academic and industrial research into commercial products within a dynamic biotechnology environment. The internship is located in South San Francisco and requires onsite presence.

Key Aspects of the Fellowship:

Focused Technical Projects: Summer Fellows will work on a focused technical project, ranging from synthetic biology information technology to optimization algorithms, statistical learning (AI) software, or stepwise biotechnology manufacturing execution systems.
Project Contribution: Interns will be entrusted with tasks that require specific skills and are crucial to the project.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Interns will be assigned a project that can be completed during the internship period.
• Work on a project in the areas of data sciences and bioinformatics.
• Perform data analysis and interpretation to support ongoing projects.
Research: Conducting research on new technologies or industry trends.
Testing: Assisting with software testing and quality assurance.
Documentation: Creating and maintaining technical documentation.
Project support: Providing general support to IT projects

What You’ll Bring To The Team:

• A strong interest in biology and computer science.
• Demonstrated skills (via projects or classes) to perform basic data analysis.
• Great communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• A desire to be in the office every day working with the team at Twist.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in any of the computer science, physical science, or engineering disciplines.
• Students who are familiar with any of the major programming languages.
• Students about to enter their Junior or Senior year or are just graduating.
