Job Description

Job Title: High School Assistant Track Coach (Heritage Track)

This is an exciting opportunity to join the coaching staff at Heritage High School as an Assistant Track Coach. The position supports the high school’s Track program, with the season running in the Spring, from February to May.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Program Collaboration: Work cooperatively with the head athletic coach to ensure the operation of a well-structured and effective program.
• Departmental Coordination: Maintain cooperative relationships and work effectively with the athletic department.
• Meeting Attendance: Attend all staff meetings as prescribed by the head athletic coach throughout the season.
• Duty Execution: Diligently carry out specific duties designated by the head athletic coach.
• Equipment & Supplies: Recommend necessary equipment and supplies for the successful implementation of the sports program.
• Player Discipline: Provide recommendations for disciplinary actions concerning players who violate established training rules and procedures.
• Athlete Development: Foster among athletes a strong desire to win, an attitude of good sportsmanship, personal pride, and pride for their school and community.
• Additional Duties: Perform other duties related to the position of assistant athletic coach as requested by the high school principal and/or athletic director.

Qualifications

• Sport-Specific Experience: Demonstrated coaching experience or participation in Track at either the high school or college level.
• Emergency Preparedness: Completion of, or current enrollment in, CPR and First Aid training.
• LCPS Internal Preference (Preferred): Experience as a teacher or classified employee within Loudoun County Public Schools.
• Virginia License/LCPS Employee (Preferred): Preference for candidates who hold a Virginia Teaching License or are a full-time classified employee for Loudoun County Public Schools.
