Head of Corporate.Egypt- Corporate.International Banking Group | Mashreq

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Mashreq, located in Egypt. Mashreq is an international banking group focused on providing comprehensive corporate banking solutions. This critical leadership position is responsible for driving the corporate banking business in Egypt, ensuring strategic growth, robust financial performance, effective risk management, and the development of a high-performing team.

• Mission: Lead and manage the corporate banking business in Egypt to achieve financial and non-financial objectives through strategic growth, risk minimization, and staff development.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategic Business Leadership & Market Development: Provide leadership and manage the corporate banking business to achieve financial and non-financial objectives, defining market strategy and approaching new segments to develop a broad portfolio and pursue growth.
• Financial Performance & Balance Sheet Management: Introduce performance metrics, drive business performance of the total Corporate Portfolio, and ensure efficient balance sheet management to maximize return on capital and minimize credit/operating risks.
• Credit & Portfolio Quality Control: Guide segment leads to develop and maintain acceptable loan portfolio quality by upholding high credit standards, avoiding concentrations, and implementing credit controls in line with bank policy and regulatory directives.
• Client Relationship & Revenue Generation: Position the Bank by developing strong working relations with key business leaders and existing clients, expanding funding resources, and identifying consistent, recurring revenue generation sources.
• Team Leadership & Development: Initiate recruitment plans, and train, develop, and motivate the corporate banking team to ensure proper staffing, enhance skills, and meet bank objectives for employee and customer satisfaction.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Executive-level professional with complete knowledge and clear understanding of the bank’s credit policy and operating systems. Possesses strong credit and legal knowledge, marketing skills, and thorough awareness of various financial products/services and the local/regional/international Corporate markets.
• Experience: A minimum of 15 years of experience in corporate banking. Demonstrated leadership skills, including visionary and strategic planning capacity, consensus building, conflict resolution, and the ability to support, motivate, and retain staff.
• Skills: Commendable skills at credit, marketing, and balance sheet management are a pre-requisite. Excellent communication and analytical skills, with a proven ability to perform as a team player and strong inter-personal capabilities.
