About the Grain Origination Sales Internship:

This internship is part of Cargill’s Agricultural Supply Chain – North America (CASC NA) team, which connects agricultural producers to food, feed, and industrial customers. The program provides students with practical experience in sales, risk management, carbon markets, and grain origination.

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting Strategic Farm Representatives and Grain Origination Merchants: You will work alongside experienced professionals to identify and develop customer solutions and services, contributing to regional grain origination objectives.
Hands-on Experience: Gain practical experience in a sales and origination environment, working directly with grain producers over the phone and in the field.
Project Involvement: Contribute to business projects within the sales and origination function, applying classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios.

What You Will Learn:

Sales and Marketing Strategies: Develop an understanding of sales techniques and marketing principles in the agricultural industry.
Risk Management: Gain insights into managing risks associated with grain production and trading.
Carbon Markets: Learn about emerging carbon markets and their impact on the agricultural sector.
Grain Origination Processes: Understand the intricate processes involved in acquiring, handling, and distributing grain.

Program Details:

Duration: 12 weeks
Location: Various U.S. locations, including Olathe, KS, Sidney, OH, Lafayette IN, and West Memphis AR.
Travel: 50% or less, primarily within the assigned region by personal vehicle.
Compensation: $19.70 – $27.30 per hour, dependent on graduation date and eligibility for full-time employment.

Requirements:

Citizenship: Right to work in the U.S.
Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program (all majors considered), graduating between December 2025 and August 2026.
Driving: Valid driver’s license and a safe driving history.
Travel: Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%.
Relocation: Willingness and ability to relocate to one of the listed locations.
Time Commitment: Availability for a 12-week internship during the summer (May/June – August 2025).
Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills.
Teamwork: Ability to contribute effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Agricultural Background: Major in Agricultural Business, Agricultural Economics, Agriculture Management, or a related field.
Personal Vehicle: Access to a personal vehicle for travel within the sales region.
GPA: 3.0 GPA or higher based on a 4.0 scale.
Problem Solving: Ability to solve problems and make decisions independently.
Leadership Skills: Experience with leadership roles.
