Job Description:

This internship provides support to Delta Air Lines’ Flight Safety Accident/Incident Investigation Team, Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA), and Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP). The work directly contributes to Delta’s Safety Management System (SMS), a proactive system for preventing accidents and incidents by tracking, trending, and resolving aviation hazards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the full investigative process for aviation accidents and incidents.
• Collecting factual data, including:
• Damage data
• Injury information
• Meteorological conditions
• Crew background
• Human performance data
• Flight recorder data
• Other relevant investigative data

In short: The intern will be involved in the comprehensive investigation of aviation safety events, gathering and analyzing various types of data to contribute to Delta’s safety initiatives.
