Graduate Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach | Bluefield University
The Tone:
This is an early career Graduate Assistant role at Bluefield University, located in Bluefield, VA. This role supports the university’s mission by assisting in promoting a Track program and a Women’s Volleyball program, providing direction to athletes, and ensuring fiscal responsibility within the athletic department.

• Mission: Assist in promoting athletic programs in line with Christian principles, guide student-athletes, and maintain fiscal responsibility.
• Tech Stack: Modems, scanners, copy machines, typewriters, computers, faxes
What You’ll Actually Do
• Teaching/Coaching: Assists in the organization and implementation of practice sessions with student-athletes, providing instruction for Track meets and general practice.
• Recruiting: Identifies, evaluates, and recruits potential team members for Bluefield University, ensuring the retention of current student-athletes.
• Departmental Administration: Promotes a Women’s Volleyball program that aligns with the university’s mission and manages eligibility requirements for athletes.
• Public Relations: Reports all athletic results to appropriate media outlets and the sports information director, and recommends athletes for awards.
• Other Duties: Provides necessary reports and documentation to the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, demonstrating planning and problem-solving capabilities.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career individual who supports the University’s Mission Statement and expresses a personal Christian commitment.
• Experience: Current and working knowledge of NAIA regulations.
• Skills: Ability to operate office equipment including modems, scanners, copy machines, typewriters, computers, and faxes; skilled in planning, organizing, prioritizing, and problem-solving; capable of processing visual and verbal information.
• Bonus: Preferred minimum of a B.S. or B.A. degree in Business, Sports Management, or Exercise & Sports Science.
