Employment Specialist | Easterseals Hawaii

• Mission: This role develops employment opportunities and provides comprehensive job support to individuals with disabilities, fostering their independence and fulfillment.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft (Outlook, Word, Excel), computer, iPad or tablet, cell phone, web-based platforms

What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop Job Opportunities: Network with business communities to establish relationships that create job and micro-enterprise opportunities for Job Seekers, supporting their integration and employment outcomes.
• Coach and Train Individuals: Provide individualized training and coaching to Job Seekers in job-related tasks and behaviors, helping them achieve the highest level of independence.
• Deliver Pre-Employment Training: Provide Pre-Employment Training Services (Pre-ETS) in high school classrooms or through virtual classrooms when approved.
• Instruct Life Skills: Deliver life skills instruction in a classroom setting to youth and adults with disabilities under the direction of a Special Educator.
• Manage Documentation and Reporting: Complete all required documentation, including reports, data collection, and assessments, in a timely and professional manner.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. This role supports individuals with disabilities in employment, requiring a foundational understanding of their needs and goals.
• Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of verifiable experience working directly with individuals with disabilities.
• Skills: Effective verbal and written communication, cultural respectfulness, computer proficiency with Microsoft (Outlook, Word, Excel), and problem-solving behavioral and health-related incidents.
• Bonus: Ability to work a flexible schedule, experience working with persons with employment barriers, experience in job development and job coach training, and classroom management experience.
