About The HJGT
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 to provide junior golfers (ages 8-18) the opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour aims to provide superb hospitality and create memorable events. Open to both males and females, the HJGT is currently the largest junior golf tour in the world, hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. In 2017, the HJGT partnered with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company, to grow the game of golf and broaden the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.
Position Summary
The Golf Operations Associate intern will work under the supervision of HJGT Tournament Directors and Staff Members, learning how to operate golf tournaments. This involves active involvement in all aspects of tournament operations, from course setup to breakdown. The internship provides hands-on training and requires extensive travel every weekend across the country to various locations. When not traveling, interns will receive Business Operations training from the Senior Leadership team. There are five operations teams across of the country. Two of them live in full time housing which is in GA while the other three teams are travel teams and they live in hotels during the duration of their program. Travel teams spend one full week in each city they visit.
Key aspects of the role include:
• Providing customer service to players and families.
• Tournament set-up and preparation (marking courses, tee and hole locations, scoreboard set-up, utility set-up).
• Starting and scoring players, on-course rules officiating, and pace of play management.
• Other duties as assigned.
