Associate, Global Investment Banking, M&A | RBC

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at RBC, located in New York, NY. This Associate position plays a critical part within the Investment Banking US M&A team, contributing to core deal execution and the identification of new business opportunities. The role is integral to driving the bank’s high-performance culture and achieving strategic goals within a collaborative and high-performing environment.

• Mission: Support M&A deal execution and identify new business opportunities to help clients thrive.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: M&A deal execution and other business opportunities by working closely with the M&A Team and Industry Banking Teams.
• Build: Financial models, perform valuation analysis, and prepare supporting quantitative deal materials for various transactions.
• Create: Pitch books and presentation materials designed for client meetings and internal strategic discussions.
• Collaborate: Closely with Analysts and senior deal team members throughout the entire transaction execution process.
• Identify: And evaluate new M&A opportunities in conjunction with Industry specialists to expand the business pipeline.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An Associate-level professional with a Bachelor’s degree and an MBA, MA, MS, or an equivalent qualification with an emphasis in finance or accounting.
• Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in Investment Banking, with previous experience in the M&A space being highly desired for this role.
• Skills: Strong capabilities in financial modeling, valuation analysis, capital markets knowledge, and financial statement analysis, complemented by outstanding quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
• Bonus: Possession of Series 79 & 63 licenses, strong written and oral communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to take initiative, manage conflicting priorities, and build relationships across all organizational levels.
