Gate Attendant | FirstService Residential

The Tone:
This is a part-time role at FirstService Residential, located in one of our managed communities. FirstService Residential is a leading residential property management company, dedicated to enhancing property values and the lives of residents across thousands of communities. This vital role ensures the safety, security, and welcoming atmosphere of the property by meticulously managing gate access and providing exceptional customer service as the first point of contact for all residents and guests.

• Mission: To ensure the security and positive experience of residents and guests by managing gate access and providing essential support services.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Access Control: Greet, monitor, and authorize the entrance of homeowners, real estate agents, delivery services, visitors, and other persons, making positive identification to maintain the security of the premises. This includes ensuring a quality, consistent, and overall customer service presentation to all residents and guests.
• Documentation & Monitoring: Maintain accurate system records and logs with all required information, and actively monitor cameras to identify and address security concerns.
• Incident & Emergency Response: Create and submit detailed incident reports as required, implement emergency procedures, and respond to emergency situations in a timely and efficient manner within specified guidelines, while maintaining constant awareness and knowledge of all emergency protocols.
• Community Resource Management: Distribute keys and reservation forms for the use of amenities, adhering to all proper established procedures.
• Reporting & Compliance: Report all issues, complaints, and safety matters directly to Management, and consistently follow all company policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed, always conducting business with the highest standards of personal, professional, and ethical conduct.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A High School Diploma or its equivalent is a required qualification for this position.
• Experience: Previous experience in a related role is preferred.
• Skills: This role requires excellent customer service skills, strong verbal and written communication abilities, critical thinking, problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making abilities. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently, showing self-drive. Proper representation of the organization, adherence to company dress code, policy, and display of identification badges are also essential requirements.
• Bonus: The ability to learn and possess knowledge of multi-building operations is considered a valuable asset.
