Gallery and Programs Associate | Golden Chamber of Commerce

The Tone:
This is an entry-level, part-time position at Foothills Art Center, an organization established in 1968, dedicated to enriching the community through art, exhibitions, education, and programs. The role is centered around visitor services and community programs, acting as a crucial liaison between the Art Center and its guests. This associate helps shape positive visitor experiences and actively promotes the mission of creating a stronger community through art. Success in this role is vital for ensuring operational efficiency and requires strong collaboration across all staff.

• Mission: Serves as the primary contact for visitors, ensuring positive experiences and promoting the Art Center’s mission and offerings.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Visitor Services: Provide exemplary customer service, act as the first point of contact for inquiries, and promote participation in educational and public programs.
• Program Support: Build classes, programs, and events in CRM software, communicate with instructors and students, and facilitate programs like Gallery Tours and SPARK!.
• Event Assistance: Provide onsite support for evening and weekend events, including exhibition openings, LATE NIGHT, ARTSWEEK, and the Holiday Art Market.
• Retail Coordination: Coordinate retail items, manage inventory in CRM software, prepare price labels, receive inventory, and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the retail shop.
• Operational Support: Perform opening and closing duties for Astor House, maintain marketing materials, ensure the front desk is tidy, and restock supplies as needed.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level position with a commitment to working with diverse groups of people and a passion for visual arts and Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA).
• Experience: Ability to multitask and proficiency with computers, including a willingness to learn new CRM software.
• Skills: Strong writing, verbal, and public speaking abilities for effective communication; detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Museum Studies, Arts Administration, or related fields; previous experience in a visual arts organization and teaching roles.
