Intern, Community Engagement | The Greater Oklahoma City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

The Tone:
This is an internship at the Community Engagement department of the Oklahoma City Thunder, located in downtown Oklahoma City. This role offers the opportunity to support the team that fosters relationships with community partners and beneficiaries across Oklahoma City. The intern will play a key part in administrative duties, charitable donations, and the planning and execution of various community events, directly contributing to the Thunder’s outreach efforts and impact in the region.

• Team: Reports to the Community Engagement Programs Manager
• Mission: Provide essential administrative and logistical support to the Community Engagement team, enabling effective charitable initiatives and community event execution.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Donations: Coordinate and fulfill community requests for charitable donations.
• Data Management: Enter and update donation and inventory records within Excel databases.
• Program Support: Help organize community outreach visits, such as the Rolling Thunder Book Bus, and maintain educational program mailings and databases.
• Event Assistance: Assist in game-night activities, including auctions, raffles, and fundraisers, and collaborate on planning and executing other department events.
• Logistics: Load and drive the department van with event supplies, maintain inventory, and manage supplies at both arena and off-site locations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and eligible to receive academic course credit for the internship.
• Experience: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, with strong attention to detail and the ability to see projects through completion.
• Skills: Excellent oral, written, and listening communication skills; a self-starter who can prioritize multiple tasks collaboratively, possesses a valid driver’s license, and has reliable transportation.
