Fund Accountant | Gen II Fund Services
The Tone:
This is a full-time position for a Fund Accountant at Gen II Fund Services, requiring a hybrid work schedule with three days in one of our US offices and two days remote. Gen II Fund Services is recognized as one of the largest global independent private equity fund administrators, administering over $1 trillion of private capital on behalf of its clients. With 14 offices spanning the US, Canada, and Europe, Gen II provides private fund sponsors with an industry-leading combination of experienced personnel, streamlined processes, and advanced technology. This role is fundamental to delivering critical accounting services, encompassing the preparation and processing of transactions and comprehensive financial statements along with their supporting schedules and work papers. The Fund Accountant plays a key part in enabling private fund sponsors to effectively manage their operational infrastructure, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain clear investor communications across diverse asset classes like buyout, real estate, venture capital, and more.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage Cash Operations: Execute cash processing activities and conduct thorough bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and integrity.
• General Ledger Management: Accurately record all necessary journal entries and meticulously maintain the general ledger for assigned funds.
• Financial Reporting Preparation: Develop and organize supporting workpapers and checklists, then prepare complete financial statements, including all required footnotes.
• Capital Account Administration: Compile detailed information for partner capital accounts and efficiently process all investor capital calls and distributions.
• Audit Facilitation: Serve as the primary contact to liaise with clients’ independent auditors, providing necessary documentation and support during audit processes.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree is required, demonstrating a foundational understanding suitable for a role in financial services.
• Experience: While specific years are not mandated, candidates should possess the ability to perform detailed accounting tasks, as the actual salary within the stated range will be determined by the candidate’s experience level in such functions.
• Skills: Capability to record and process financial transactions, maintain a general ledger, and prepare financial documentation, including workpapers and financial statements.
• Bonus: A Bachelor’s degree specifically in accounting is strongly preferred for this position.
