Commercial Leadership Development Associate (Sales & Marketing) | CSX

The Tone:
This is a full-time early career role at CSX, located in Jacksonville, FL. CSX is a Fortune 500 premier transportation company, providing rail, intermodal, and rail-to-truck transload services that have played a critical role in the nation’s economic expansion. This position seeks future business leaders to foster growth, efficiency, and innovation by identifying solutions and influencing business decisions within the Sales & Marketing Department. The program provides a structured orientation to the railroad industry and leadership training to equip participants to influence decisions and contribute strategically to CSX’s continued success.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analysis: Work with business partners to analyze marketing, operating, and capital projects to understand economic tradeoffs and inform real-time business decisions.
• Sales Development: Drive rail conversion opportunities for new and existing small and medium-sized accounts, develop prospect relationships, and respond to lead generation efforts.
• Communication: Communicate analyses through presentations to senior management within the department and business partners from other departments.
• Project Rotation: Rotate through high-value projects across the Sales & Marketing Department to understand specific markets and their customers.
• Program Engagement: Engage in an 18-month professional development program involving structured learning, training, mentorship, field experiences, and networking.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Information Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Computer Science, completed prior to the start date with a GPA of at least 3.0 overall.
• Experience: This is an early-career role within an 18-month professional development program designed for recent graduates.
• Skills: Ability to deliver presentations to senior-level audiences, ability to analyze complex business issues and make sound business decisions, strong oral and written communication skills, Microsoft Office skills, knowledge of corporate financial principles and practices.
• Bonus: Graduate Degree completed prior to start date, one or more years of work experience, or a Grade point average of 3.5 or higher in the related major field of study for your highest degree.
