Intern Forensics & Valuation Summer 2027 | Forvis Mazars US

The Tone:
This is an Internship at Forvis Mazars US, located in multiple locations across the country for Summer 2027. The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person, Multiple Locations
• Pay: $27–$39 hourly
• Mission: Support the Forensics & Valuation practice by providing services related to forensic accounting, litigation, fraud investigations, and complex valuation issues to clients across the country.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Suite

What You’ll Actually Do
• Valuation Modeling: Prepare comprehensive business valuation models and detailed reports, contributing to compliance, mergers & acquisitions, and financial reporting tasks.
• Economic Research: Research and analyze relevant industry, transactional, and economic information to support client engagements.
• Management Interviews: Prepare for and actively participate in management interviews, conducted either onsite or via teleconference, to gather critical information.
• Audit Support: Assist audit teams by reviewing and thoroughly testing fair value estimates used in financial reporting.
• Quality Control: Assist with mathematical testing related to internal quality control procedures to ensure accuracy.
• Forensic Engagements: Participate in investigations, litigation support activities, and forensic consulting engagements as part of the team.
• Financial Analysis: Perform detailed analysis of financial and legal documents, meticulously examine potentially fraudulent transactions, and reconstruct financial statements.
• Data Interpretation: Apply technical research skills to efficiently gather, organize, summarize, and interpret complex data to arrive at sound conclusions.
• Client Communication: Deliver Forvis Mazars’ commitment to an unmatched client experience through timely and responsive communication with both internal and external clients.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level intern pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college/university.
• Experience: Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher (in major and overall); possess a problem-solving attitude and a willingness to take initiative; some travel may be required, up to 20% of the time.
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; strong oral and written communication skills; effective time management and close attention to detail; ability to work well with a team as well as independently and under pressure against deadlines.
• Bonus: Desire or the ability to sit for the CPA exam; desire to obtain professional credentials such as Accreditation in Business Valuation (ABV), Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA), and/or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
