Food Service Worker I (FSW-I) – Mercy

Job Profile Summary

The Food Service Worker I (FSW-I) is responsible for a variety of essential non-cooking functions within our food service department. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Washing dishes
  • Cold food preparation
  • Salad production
  • Serving food
  • Cashier duties
  • Tray passing
  • Loading carts
  • General cleaning
  • Receiving deliveries

Position Details

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a service-related environment/industry.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Maintains positive relationships with patients and customers to ensure quality satisfaction with food service.
  • Demonstrates courtesy, consideration, and cooperation when communicating with all patients, guests, team members, and hospital personnel.
  • Ability to work effectively in direct contact with a variety of foods.
  • Able to meet all schedule requirements, including consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
