Overview

Our Test interns work with a team of engineers and industry professionals to develop and test firmware to optimize industrial operations. You will have the opportunity to be a significant contributor, while getting comprehensive exposure to the business structure of the company and how we are helping our customers bring the Connected Enterprise to life.

Firmware Test – Key Activities

If you like pushing products to their limits to meet the rigid standards of industrial components, you will be interested in these activities:

  • Design and development of scripts for automating test procedures.
  • Documenting of test procedures.
  • Execution of test procedures for verification of product functionality (manual/automated).
  • Creation of test reports.
  • Assistance with lab audit/improvement activities.
  • Assist with build and commissioning of test firmware and hardware platforms.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or similar from an accredited college or university.
  • GPA: Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Programming Skills: Basic programming (C++, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript).
  • Circuit Knowledge: Basic knowledge of circuit theory and operation, including microprocessors, digital logic devices, analog and/or DC-power conversion, programmable devices (CPLDs, FPGAs).
  • Power/Motors: Experience with Power Electronics or motors.
  • Design Tools: Experience with design capture tools.
  • Schematics: Be able to work with schematic drawings.
  • Software Familiarity: Familiarity with tools such as CAD, Creoparametic, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), 3D Modeling, SAP, Matlab.
  • Automation Experience: Experience with industrial automation environments including PLC or drives programming.
  • Methodology: Experience using Agile methodology.

Compensation

The compensation for this role is $22-32 / hr.
