Financial Analyst – Cloud & AI | Motorola Solutions

The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid role at Motorola Solutions, located in the USA. This Financial Analyst role is critical for managing and optimizing the financial aspects of our multi-cloud environment and AI tools, ensuring fiscal responsibility and driving strategic growth across our public safety and security portfolio. You will bridge technical operations with financial discipline, playing a key role in making sure every dollar spent on cloud and AI directly contributes to our mission of building a safer future.

• Team: GPO Finance, reporting to the Cloud & AI Manager
• Mission: Manage the financial lifecycle of cloud vendors and AI tools to ensure accurate general ledger reporting, tax compliance, and actionable insights for optimization.

What You’ll Actually Do
Cloud Invoice and Tax Management: Track, review, and validate monthly cloud vendor invoices across AWS, GCP, and Azure, performing self-assessments of tax liabilities to ensure accurate remittance and compliance.
Internal Cost Allocation & Audit: Partner with the Cloud Platform Team to align on and audit internal charge-out models for cloud consumption and software licenses, ensuring correct mapping to development and production departments.
General Ledger Reconciliation: Collaborate directly with Accounting to ensure appropriate month-end accruals, deferrals, amortization, and reconcile the General Ledger for Cloud FinOps departments, resolving discrepancies promptly.
Financial Reporting & Optimization: Analyze and prepare Quarterly Cloud Business Review (QBR) decks, highlighting spend trends, forecast vs. actuals, and cost optimization opportunities for leadership.
AI Investment Tracking & Forecasting: Own the AI Master Cost & Savings Tracker, including quarterly loads to the “AI Hub,” and partner with the Cloud & AI Manager to forecast monthly/yearly cloud and AI costs for various products and business units.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related business discipline.
• Experience: 2-5 years of experience in financial analysis, corporate accounting, or IT/Cloud finance.
• Skills: Strong understanding of core accounting principles (GL reconciliations, accruals, amortization), proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and enterprise planning software (e.g., Hyperion, Anaplan), advanced proficiency in Google Sheets/Microsoft Excel, excellent critical thinking and analytical skills, and exceptional communication skills.
