Accounting Analyst (Remote) | First American

As an Accounting Analyst, you will perform routine and non-routine analysis functions within general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or other financial departments. This position is vital for driving process improvements, standardizing procedures, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations through meticulous research and reconciliation.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Account Reconciliation: Reconcile simple to medium complex sub-ledger accounts and financial records, creating necessary analysis reports.
• Issue Resolution: Investigate, analyze, coordinate, and track simple to medium complex customer issues and problems.
• Internal Control Assurance: Partner with business owners, customers, and suppliers to understand underlying business processes and ensure appropriate system and internal controls are in place.
• General Ledger Management: Research and resolve discrepancies found on general ledger accounts related to your area of responsibility.
• Process Improvement: Participate in or lead teams focused on process improvement, cost reduction, and issue resolution initiatives.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related financial field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience: Typically requires 2-4 years of related analytical experience, including facilitating meetings with high-level cross-functional teams.
• Skills: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, and excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Bonus: Experience with mainframe systems, with Oracle being preferred.
