Financial Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis | Marex
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Marex, located in Chicago, IL, requiring at least four days per week in-office. Marex operates as a global financial services platform, providing essential liquidity, market access, and infrastructure services to clients across energy, commodities, and financial markets. This role is crucial for providing reliable data and analysis for monthly financial reporting, developing models and dashboards for thoughtful analysis, identifying actionable insights, and effectively framing critical decisions for the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reporting: Prepare and distribute monthly payout reports for internal brokers.
• Analysis: Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly customer profitability reports and create internal dashboards for customer profitability.
• Modeling: Update and enhance variance analysis reports and financial models to improve financial insights.
• Performance Review: Analyze monthly financial results, investigate inconsistencies, and explain variances to support financial accuracy.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to automate financial reporting processes, contributing to efficiency.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, demonstrating a strong understanding of basic accounting processes, procedures, and GAAP.
• Experience: At least three to five (3-5) years’ of experience in a Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) role, with experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of associated risk and compliance requirements.
• Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Excel modeling, critical thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Bonus: Experience in Essbase/SmartView, PeopleSoft, Power BI, Power Query, Power Pivot, and Tableau software.
