Job Description: Finance Leadership Development Program (FLDP) & Finance Internship
Thermo Fisher Scientific offers a two-year Finance Leadership Development Program (FLDP) designed to accelerate the development of future finance leaders. The program involves multiple assignments providing strategic direction in various finance areas, exposure to core processes and technologies, and interaction with key leaders. Participants gain proficiency across diverse functional areas, business units, products/services, and regions. Additional learning opportunities include formal development sessions, executive mentorship, use of the Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodology, and networking with FLDP alumni.
The company also provides a 10-12 week Finance Internship for business students, serving as a pipeline for the FLDP. Interns work on projects with strategic and/or operational importance, assigned based on their abilities and business needs. These projects are developed by senior leadership.
Internship Details:
• Eligibility: Undergraduate students (rising seniors) pursuing a business-related degree, graduating between December 2025 and June 2026. Prior internship experience is preferred, but not required.
• Qualifications: Consistent record of success, demonstrating integrity, innovation, involvement, and intensity. Ability to champion change, achieve results, and navigate ambiguity. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with high emotional intelligence.
• Locations: Hillsboro, OR; Greenville & Wilmington, NC; Carlsbad, CA; Boston metro area; Pittsburgh & Center Valley, PA; and other possible locations.
• Projects: Summer projects may involve Financial Planning & Analysis, Internal Audit, Cost Accounting (Manufacturing), Commercial Finance, Strategic Pricing, General Accounting, Division Finance, Corporate Development Finance, and Data & Analytics.
• Start Date: May 12th or June 16th, 2025 (depending on student availability).
• Compensation: hourly rate between $21.50 – $28.75, depending on location (aligned with cost-of-living). A $5,000 relocation stipend is available for students living 50+ miles from the internship location.
• Visa Sponsorship: The company does not sponsor employment visas for this position.
