Finance Internship

Summary:

This 10-week internship within the Finance Department immerses you in CSX’s methods and culture. You’ll complete real-world assignments, working directly with leaders across the company to improve decision-making and financial performance. This internship is a chance to experience a corporate finance role and for CSX to recruit top talent.

Primary Activities and Responsibilities:

• Play a key role in completing identified finance projects, gaining insight into the daily tasks of a finance professional.
Cultivate relationships with internal business partners to analyze marketing, operating, and capital projects, understanding economic tradeoffs to make business decisions.
Provide analytical support for operations reviews, resource allocations, and financial valuations.
Guide the development of short- and long-term forecasts, plans, and strategies.
Develop and utilize financial models to quantify benefits and drive sound economic decisions.
Consult and communicate analyses through presentations to senior management and business partners.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Information Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related major field of study from an accredited institution
• Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 (based on a 4-point scale)

Preferred Qualifications:

Anticipated graduation within a year after the end of the internship
• Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.5 (based on a 4-point scale)

Knowledge and Skills:

Academic distinction with financial or quantitative interest/talent
Proven leadership ability and initiative
Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
Ability to develop and deliver presentations to a senior level audience
Proficient in Microsoft Office

Communicate effectively with senior leadership/executive audiences
Work within established deadlines
Successfully complete a background check and drug test
