Wonderful Scholar Summer Internship, Finance | Wonderful Pistachios & Almonds

The Tone:
This is a 6 to 10-week summer internship at Wonderful Pistachios & Almonds, located onsite in Los Angeles, CA. The company is the world’s largest vertically integrated pistachio and almond processor, recognized for sustainably harvested, Non-GMO Project Verified nuts. This role offers a Wonderful Scholar the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute significantly to a key process improvement project within the finance department, supporting the company’s commitment to high-quality operations and global supply.

The TL;DR

• Mission: This person will enhance financial reporting efficiency and support strategic financial decision-making through data analysis and process improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reporting: Assist with monthly financial reporting by compiling data, validating results, and preparing detailed variance analysis reports.
• Performance Analysis: Support the analysis of financial and operational performance trends to help identify potential risks, opportunities, and key cost drivers.
• Dashboard Development: Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards to improve visibility of crucial business metrics and increase reporting efficiency.
• Data Management: Collect, organize, and analyze large datasets using Excel to provide actionable business insights and inform decision-making.
• Ad-Hoc Analysis: Conduct ad-hoc financial and operational analyses to provide direct support to finance leadership and various cross-functional teams.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level: Must be a Wonderful Scholar enrolled in the College Success program and at least 18 years of age.
• Experience: Experience utilizing Power BI or Tableau; demonstrated proficiency in Excel.
• Skills: Possess strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities; able to communicate findings clearly and effectively; demonstrate an eagerness to learn and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
