About Job Description

This is an opportunity for a Field Engineer Internship with OHLA USA, located in New York, for the upcoming summer. As an intern, you will gain comprehensive learning experience in both the engineering and technical aspects of project execution, engaging in work both in the field and in the office.

Key Responsibilities:
• Work in close collaboration with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foreman, and Crews on various project deliverables.
Process and manage material deliveries, ensuring that all received materials are thoroughly inspected for both quantity and quality, and comply with contract documents.
• Manage and negotiate subcontractor and material contracts.
• Assist in the development and ongoing updates of the project schedule.
• Coordinate and schedule shop drawings and submittals.
• Maintain a complete and current record of all submittals, approvals, and resubmittals, including a meticulous file of letters of transmittal and transaction dates.
• Engage at a high level with the operations of the cost control system and participate in the analysis of construction costs.
• Participate in monthly forecasting of revenue and cost accruals.
• Accumulate all necessary data to prepare monthly pay estimates.
• Process and estimate change orders and requests for information (RFIs) as directed by the Project Manager.
• Strictly adhere to all OHLA USA policies and procedures, including critical safety policies.

Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of the construction industry is preferred but not strictly required.
• Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic.
• Ability to function effectively as a team builder/player.

Work Environment:
The role requires the ability to freely access all points of a construction site across a wide range of climates and environments. Employees may be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions is expected, and the noise level in the work environment is typically loud. Salary Range:
The salary for this internship is between USD $20.00/Hr. and USD $23.00/Hr.
