FCA Intern | FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes)

The Tone:
This is an internship at FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), with specific experiences varying by location. FCA is a Christian ministry committed to developing student-athletes, helping them discern their calling and career path while introducing them to various aspects of ministry. This program is structured as a learning and developmental ministry experience for collegiate volunteers, lasting for a summer or a semester. This internship position plays a vital role in FCA’s core mission, with the primary goal of deepening an intern’s understanding of their individual calling to ministry through hands-on training and practical experience. All responsibilities are expected to be carried out as a form of worship, surrendered to serving God.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Affirm and Adhere: Consistently agree with and abide by FCA’s Christian Community Statement.
• Spiritual Discipline: Follow a robust spiritual rhythm, including daily prayer and diligent Bible study, to earnestly seek the Lord’s will for FCA.
• Spiritual Leadership: Lead, conduct, and provide comprehensive spiritual guidance for staff, volunteers, coaches, and athletes through dedicated prayer, insightful Bible study, meaningful worship, and living by a consistent Christ-like example, thereby equipping them to effectively serve others.
• Church Engagement: Actively connect to and participate in a local church through regular worship and consistent weekly involvement.
• Biblical Conduct: Conduct yourself at all times in a manner that firmly affirms biblical standards of conduct, in full accordance with FCA’s established Christian beliefs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career collegiate volunteers, specifically student-athletes, who are seeking to discern their calling and career path within ministry.
• Experience: Willingness to engage in a structured learning and developmental ministry experience over a summer or a semester, through hands-on training and practical application. Interns are not employees and do not receive hourly compensation but may be eligible for a nominal stipend to assist with living expenses.
• Skills:
* Deep spiritual discipline, demonstrated through consistent daily prayer and diligent Bible study.
* Capability to provide comprehensive spiritual leadership, guiding staff, volunteers, coaches, and athletes through example, prayer, Bible study, and worship.
* Strong commitment to live by biblical standards of conduct and actively participate in a local church.
* Agreement with and consistent adherence to FCA’s Christian Community Statement and established Christian beliefs.
