Facilities Intern | ENGIE North America

The Tone:
This is an internship at ENGIE North America, located in Boston, MA at the Medical Area Total Energy Plant (MATEP). ENGIE North America is actively leading the Zero-Carbon Transition by developing energy solutions that are renewable, efficient, and accessible to everyone. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the Operations Department manager by assisting with the development and management of essential operational programs related to safety and environmental compliance. Your contributions will help ensure the smooth and safe operation of the MATEP facility.

The TL;DR

• Pay: $24.5–$25.5 hourly
• Team: Reports to the Operations Manager
• Mission: Assist the Operations Department manager in developing and managing operation programs related to OSHA regulations and state and federal environmental requirements at the MATEP plant.
• Tech Stack: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Development: Aid the Operations Department manager in developing and managing operation programs covering OSHA regulations and state and federal environmental requirements.
• Compliance Review: Conduct reviews of procedures and log sheets to ensure adherence to operational guidelines and store them appropriately.
• Digital Organization: Systematize computer manuals and drives to improve accessibility and management of digital resources.
• Metrics Support: Assist in the development and completion of environmental and safety metrics aimed at reducing injuries and operational risk.
• Safety Inspections: Contribute to safety equipment inventories and inspections designed to enhance workplace safety and mitigate risks.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, or Marine Engineering at an accepted four-year university.
• Experience: Junior professional, possessing less than 3 years of prior professional experience.
• Skills: Proficient with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; confident oral and written communication skills.
• Bonus: Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license; willingness and ability to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies; ability to work on-site at the MATEP plant daily for at least forty hours per week within standard working hours (7:30 am – 4 pm) in Eastern Standard Time, Monday – Friday.
