Job Description:

Ameresco is offering an Energy Engineering Internship based in Worthington, Ohio. This is a 40-hour-per-week internship (Co-op) for the Summer cycle, August – December 2025. The role is remote-friendly but requires occasional visits to the Worthington office.

As an Energy Engineering Intern, you will assist in various aspects of energy projects, including:

Implementation: Helping clients identify and implement cost-effective Energy Efficiency projects (e.g., Lighting, HVAC, Controls, VFDs).
Recovery Services: Assisting clients in recouping investments on past, current, and future Energy Efficiency projects (e.g., Utility Programs, PJM, EPACT, Federal, State, Local Grants).
On-Site Generation: Supporting clients in designing, owning, and operating on-site generation systems (e.g., Cogeneration, CHP, WER, Solar, Wind).
Energy Efficiency Consulting: Helping clients solve complex Energy Efficiency problems (e.g., Audits, Assessments, Measurement & Verification, Training).
• Assisting the Smart Building Solutions Engineering team on Energy Services related projects.
• Auditing facilities, completing energy efficiency calculations, compiling a collection of creative ECMs, and helping sell projects.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Working toward a B.S. in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or an M.S. in Renewable & Clean Energy.

Additional Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in MS Office programs with an emphasis on data entry and analytics.
• Experience working in the Energy field: particularly with lighting, HVAC, controls, or building envelope.
