Investment Banking Analyst Syndicate – Equity Capital Markets | William Blair

This is a full-time Investment Banking Analyst role at William Blair, a premier global partnership. This role is crucial for supporting the firm’s Equity Capital Markets (ECM) operations, ensuring the smooth execution of syndicate transactions, and contributing to the firm’s market perspective and distribution platform. What You’ll Actually Do
• Syndicate Management: Participate in and manage Equity Syndicate transactions, utilizing dedicated software for setup and ongoing administration.
• Client Relationship Building: Cultivate relationships with internal and external clients across Investment Banking, Institutional Sales, and peer investment banks.
• Market and Company Research: Conduct research on current and prospective client companies, comparable transactions, institutional investors, and monitor capital markets trends.
• Financial Modeling and Analysis: Build and audit fully integrated financial models, including IPO and comparable company trading and valuation analyses.
• Marketing and Deal Support: Prepare commitment committee, filing, selling memorandums, investor targeting materials, and compile marketing content detailing William Blair’s ECM perspective.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree required with a proven track record in university studies. Possess core domain knowledge in equity capital markets, equity research, equity sales & trading, investment banking, wealth management, or other deal structured environments.
• Experience: One to three years of experience required in equity capital markets, equity research, equity sales & trading, investment banking, wealth management, or other deal structured environments.
• Skills: Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities, excellent mathematical, writing, verbal, and computer skills, and a thorough understanding of accounting and finance.
• Travel: Approximately 5% travel required. SIE Exam, Series 79, and Series 63 must be acquired within 150 days of employment.
