• Mission: To organize and direct Respiratory care services, ensuring optimal care for all residents by establishing standards, clinical procedures, policies, and budgets.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead and oversee: Organize and direct all respiratory care services to provide optimal care for residents across the system.
• Establish and manage: Develop and implement departmental policies, clinical procedures, and budgets to achieve goals and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assess and coordinate: Assess patient respiratory conditions, determine necessary equipment, and coordinate treatment plans with medical and nursing staff.
• Educate and train: In-service patients, families, and staff on pulmonary hygiene and the appropriate use of respiratory equipment.
• Maintain operations: Manage respiratory equipment, including preventative maintenance and supply levels, in collaboration with Central Supply and Engineering.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Graduation from a JRCRTE – AMA accredited program in Respiratory Care. Licensed by the NYS Department of Education as a Respiratory Therapist and Registered (RTT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Member of the American Association for Respiratory Care.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 – 5 years of supervisory experience in a respiratory care setting.
• Skills: Analytical skills for developing and implementing policies, procedures, and budgets, and for ensuring regulatory compliance; strong communication and interpersonal skills to consult with medical staff, educate patients, and interact professionally with peers and supervisors; comprehensive knowledge of the dementia population and related behaviors.
