The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Schuylkill Center, located in Pottsville, PA, with an every third weekend on-call schedule. Panacea Health Corp, through its Schuylkill Center facility, provides long-term care services to residents. This critical leadership position is responsible for directing and evaluating the nursing service department, ensuring high-quality care, and compliance with all regulations. The Director of Nursing leads the nursing team, ensuring continuity of resident care and fostering a team-centered culture.

• Team: Leads and supervises the nursing service department, including CNAs/GNAs and other personnel.
• Mission: Direct and evaluate the nursing service department to ensure quality care, regulatory compliance, and a supportive environment for residents and staff.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Direct Nursing Operations: Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the nursing service department, programs, and activities according to current rules and regulations.
• Develop Policies and Structure: Develop, maintain, and update written policies, procedures, and an organizational structure for the nursing service department.
• Coordinate Resident Care: Develop methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services to ensure continuity of each resident’s total care regimen.
• Implement Quality Assurance: Develop, implement, and maintain an ongoing quality assurance program, monitoring QI, QM, and survey reports to address problem areas.
• Oversee Care Planning and Staff: Provide leadership, education, counseling, and discipline to nursing personnel, make daily rounds, and ensure comprehensive resident care plans are developed and followed.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in this state. Must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of residents.
• Experience: Minimum three (3) years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related health care facility. Minimum six (6) months experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
• Skills: Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing care facilities. Must possess leadership and supervisory ability, and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
