Exec Director, Finance | General Dynamics

This Executive Director of Finance position is crucial for providing senior leadership and direction across a major part of the organization’s financial functions, ensuring sound financial planning, robust policies, and effective controls. What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Leadership: Direct and strategically oversee the full spectrum of financial functions across a major organizational segment, including accounting, financial analysis, tax, credit, and collections, while developing and executing comprehensive financial plans and policies.
• Control Establishment: Establish and vigorously maintain robust internal controls to effectively monitor assets, manage capital investments, control operational costs, and accurately measure the organization’s liquidity and fiscal health.
• Reporting & Compliance: Act as the primary liaison with senior leadership on all matters of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements, interpreting critical financial metrics and overseeing audits to ensure impeccable reporting and full adherence to applicable regulations, including GAAP, FASB, or SEC mandates.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Proactively communicate and collaborate with diverse departments such as Operations, Marketing, HR, and IT to ensure alignment on internal controls, facilitate budget approvals, and conduct thorough ROI evaluations for strategic projects.
• Team Management: Provide decisive leadership and direct the work of other senior managers, assuming responsibility for all personnel actions, including hiring, performance management, and, with HR and General Managers’ concurrence, termination decisions.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Executive-level leadership within finance, with an Associate’s Degree in a relevant field.
• Experience: 12-15 years of professional experience in finance, including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and financial management software.
• Skills: Corporate finance, Financial management, Fiscal management, Accounting software, Financial analysis software.
• Bonus: A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance is preferred, and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is desired.
