ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF DONOR ENGAGEMENT & PHILATHROPY | Vellore Christian Medical College Foundation

The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid role based in New York City for the Vellore Christian Medical College Foundation. The Foundation’s mission is to support the Christian Medical College & Hospital of Vellore, India, in its pursuit of excellence across medical education, research, and patient services. This position is a hands-on role, playing an integral part in cultivating and managing donor relationships, supporting volunteer efforts, and maintaining essential communication strategies to advance the Foundation’s vital work. The ideal candidate will apply exceptional interpersonal skills and a true dedication to responsibly stewarding the organization’s charitable relationships.

• Mission: Own the development, cultivation, and management of donor relationships and support communication strategies to ensure the Foundation’s ongoing success in supporting medical education and services.
• Tech Stack: Donor Relationship Management (DRM) systems, DonorPerfect (preferred)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Donor Management: Develop, cultivate, and manage relationships with the Foundation’s donors.
• Volunteer Support: Provide support to the Foundation’s volunteer workers.
• Campaign Oversight: Assure adherence to established Campaign time schedules.
• Database Maintenance: Carefully maintain the organization’s database of donors and prospects.
• Communications Support: Play an integral role in supporting the Foundation’s communications strategies across print, online, and social media.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in any field, ideal for early career professionals.
• Experience: Minimum of two years of experience, ideally within a nonprofit communications or fundraising environment.
• Skills: Strong organizational abilities, excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfort with social media platforms, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a dedication to the Foundation’s mission with the ability to responsibly steward charitable relationships.
• Bonus: Familiarity with Donor Relationship Management (DRM) systems, specifically DonorPerfect.
