The Tone:
This is a paid internship at CalYan BiOM, based in the vibrant San Francisco Bay Area. CalYan BiOM is dedicated to transforming the Recycling and Renewables space, specifically targeting the South Asian and Middle-East/East Africa ecosystems. This role is crucial for rapidly building functional prototypes using smart AI tools, allowing for the exploration of diverse design options and the development of precise in-country product specifications to meet these ambitious goals.

• Team: Global team environment, working closely with business owners across multiple time-zones including Singapore, Jakarta, and California.
• Mission: Rapidly build working prototypes to explore various design options and in-country product specifications, leveraging smart AI tools.
• Tech Stack: Design tools, templates, AI Toolkits, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), basic front-end coding.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Prototype: Rapidly build functional prototypes to explore various design options and in-country product specifications, utilizing smart AI tools and AI Toolkits.
• Design: Create visually compelling designs and generate high-quality graphics, applying design tools and templates effectively.
• Architectural: Develop architectural concepts and contribute to innovative projects focused on transformative designs and advancements.
• Technical: Employ Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools to develop comprehensive technical and creative solutions.
• Research: Conduct thorough research to support project development, inform problem-solving, and ensure effective design outcomes.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Design, Architecture, or a related field, indicating a foundational understanding and readiness for entry-level professional contributions.
• Experience: Demonstrated proficiency in Graphic Design, including the creation of high-quality graphics. Practical experience with Architecture concepts and the application of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) is also required.
• Skills: Proficient in various design tools and templates, with the ability to apply them in the context of AI Toolkits to create rapid, functional prototypes. Possesses strong research skills to support project development, an eye for detail, and a passion for creativity and innovation. Effective communication and strong teamwork abilities are also essential, alongside basic front-end coding skills.
• Bonus: Familiarity with sustainable design practices is a valuable advantage for contributing to the company’s mission.
