The Tone:
This is a Design Drafter Intern position at ToolBox Construction, located in San Francisco, CA. The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do
• Produce Technical Drawings: Be responsible for the production of new technical, architectural, and design drawings, ensuring they meet project specifications and standards across various active residential and commercial projects.
• Modify Existing Designs: Systematically modify and update existing architectural and design drawings, incorporating revisions and feedback to maintain accuracy and alignment with evolving project requirements.
• Ensure Documentation Quality: Apply strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, ensuring the high quality and completeness of all technical and design documentation produced.
• Facilitate Collaboration: Engage in effective communication and foster strong collaboration skills when working within the broader project team, contributing to a cohesive design-build workflow.
• Support Project Phases: Contribute directly to projects by assisting across all phases of the design and construction process, from initial concept through to construction administration, gaining hands-on experience in an integrated environment.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a current enrollment in, or have recently completed, a degree program in Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape Design, or a closely related academic field, demonstrating foundational knowledge.
• Experience: Possess practical experience and demonstrated proficiency in the use of CAD software, specifically AutoCAD, for architectural and design drafting tasks.
• Skills: Exhibit a strong command of technical and architectural drawing principles; showcase exceptional attention to detail with an unwavering commitment to accuracy and the highest standards of documentation quality; and demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills crucial for a project team setting.
• Bonus: Prior familiarity with established construction standards and current industry practices would be considered a valuable asset to the team.
