Job Description
Design and Analysis Internship | MARS EXPLORATION
The Tone:
This is a 12-week engineering internship at MARS Exploration, an organization dedicated to aerospace and advanced engineering skill development. Operating remotely, MARS Exploration welcomes students from the UK, USA, and internationally, providing a global learning environment. The company, officially Mahamanav Aerospace and Research Space Exploration Pvt. Ltd., is committed to preparing future engineers through practical learning, research, and innovation, with training practices aligned with AS9100D Aerospace Quality Management System standards. This internship offers crucial practical exposure to industry-standard CAD Design, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Engineering Simulation, and Product Development, giving participants hands-on experience through real-world engineering projects under the guidance of experienced mentors from both industry and research backgrounds. The role is vital for developing practical, career-focused skills for aspiring aerospace and space technology professionals.
The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Engineering Internship
• Location: Remote
• Mission: To provide practical exposure to CAD design, finite element analysis, engineering simulation, and product development for aspiring engineers.
• Tech Stack: SolidWorks, ANSYS Workbench, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Engineering Drawing & GD&T Basics, Technical Documentation
What You’ll Actually Do
• Design: Create 3D CAD models and assemblies for engineering projects using SolidWorks.
• Document: Develop comprehensive engineering drawings and necessary technical documentation.
• Analyze: Perform structural, static, thermal, and modal analysis using ANSYS.
• Validate: Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and perform design validation based on simulation results.
• Optimize: Analyze simulation outcomes to optimize and refine engineering designs.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s (B.Tech / BE) or Master’s (M.Tech / MS / MEng) degree program in Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing, or Mechatronics Engineering, or a recent graduate from one of these specified programs. The program is open to students and recent graduates across the UK, USA, Europe, Asia, and other international regions.
• Experience: Foundational understanding of engineering principles, product development cycles, and design validation methodologies typically gained through academic coursework. This role is specifically designed for individuals seeking their initial practical exposure to real-world engineering projects and advanced engineering technologies.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency or strong foundational knowledge in 3D CAD modeling using SolidWorks and performing various analyses (structural, static, thermal, modal) with ANSYS Workbench. Requires an understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) concepts, Engineering Drawing & GD&T Basics, and the ability to prepare technical documentation.
