The Tone:

As a Custodian I, you will play a vital role in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff, directly contributing to the daily functionality and positive experience within university facilities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Maintain Floors: Clean and preserve all floor types by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and vacuuming.
• Clean Facilities: Ensure cleanliness of various areas, including labs, offices, and classrooms, by removing trash and cleaning surfaces and furnishings.
• Service Restrooms: Clean, sanitize, and restock supplies in campus restrooms.
• Configure Rooms: Arrange and set up furniture and equipment for classrooms, meetings, and public events.
• Respond to Emergencies: Manage and perform immediate clean-ups for unexpected incidents.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: Six months of experience working in an institutional, industrial, or commercial setting is preferred.
• Skills: Knowledge of custodial services practices, techniques, and procedures; ability to safely use cleaning chemicals daily; capability to lift approximately 30-50 lbs and perform heavy lifting when required.
