Credit Analyst – Entry Level
Bank of the Orient, an independent Asian Community Bank with over 55 years of service in multiple Bay Area communities and Texas, is seeking a Credit Analyst – Entry Level. The ideal candidate for this role will have a minimum of 1+ years of credit underwriting experience in consumer, commercial, construction, and/or SBA lending. This position plays a crucial role in supporting our loan officers and evaluating the financial health of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance to loan officers in the processing and review of credit applications.
- Develop and analyze credit information to assess client creditworthiness.
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of both new and existing clients.
- Prepare comprehensive credit reports, including accurate summaries and cash flow analyses.
- Present factual information and may offer opinions concerning creditworthiness to decision-makers.
- Analyze and evaluate borrowers’ creditworthiness using Financial and Tax Return Spreads.
- Prepare and summarize conditions and covenant requirements that necessitate bank action.
- Obtain credit reports from various sources, including reporting services, credit bureaus, other financial institutions, and internal bank files.
- Prepare factual summaries and credit approvals for submission to the Chief Credit Officer.
- Determine the need for further investigation or additional information and contact appropriate sources.
- Review and finalize credit approvals with the Chief Credit Officer.
- Submit loan proposals to the Chief Credit Officer and/or Management Loan Committee for review and approval.
- Assist with the preparation of annual real estate reviews and updated financial statements reviews.
- Stay informed about and participate in discussions regarding current banking rules and regulations, trade finance, loan products, and marketing strategies.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 1+ years of credit underwriting experience in consumer, commercial, construction, and/or SBA lending.
- Strong analytical and evaluation skills for financial data and tax returns.
- Excellent communication and report preparation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with loan officers and management.
- Familiarity with banking rules and regulations is a plus.
- Bilingual in Chinese a Plus.
