About the Equans Finance Graduate Scheme

The world around us is changing rapidly, placing an increased demand on growing services sectors to become net zero. Equans is looking for the next generation of graduates who will continue to innovate across different areas of our business and support the energy, digital, and industrial transitions of our customers. As an Equans graduate, you will have the exciting opportunity to experience the diverse and interesting world of one of the UK’s biggest facilities management organisations.

Starting in September 2026, you will join our induction with the other graduates in your cohort to start building your network and understanding of the business before your specific placement commences. During your scheme, you will experience operational and functional roles alongside our Finance teams. Your time on the graduate scheme will span across a 2-year period, and you will complete rotations across the different Finance teams in the business. You will need to be fully mobile as the placements could be based anywhere within the UK and graduates might need to relocate throughout the scheme depending on the placement locations.

We’re looking for the next generation of talented individuals, with graduates aspiring to become the leaders of their field!

Finance Graduate Scheme Overview

Our Finance teams deliver an incredibly wide range of technical services to our clients all over the country. You could be a part of one of our largest facilities management contracts, where we work in partnership with some of the UK’s biggest hospitals, universities, and schools. Alternatively, you could be helping to mobilise one of our newest contract wins. A life in Finance is never dull, and as a graduate you will gain experience of what it takes to manage large, diverse teams in a fun and rewarding industry.

You will have a passion for putting the customer first, working in teams, and constantly looking to improve and innovate. Over the course of your graduate scheme, you will gain an understanding of how we support our customers and how to deliver innovative solutions to our communities and clients.

Scheme Structure and Rotations:

  • As a finance graduate, you will rotate across 3 or 4 different areas of the business over the 2-year scheme to build your financial knowledge and work towards becoming chartered.
  • You will complete one 6-month placement in our Employee Business Services in Newcastle to develop your technical finance skills and understand some of the teams such as Accounting Services, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.
  • You will also spend 6 months in one of our central finance teams such as Pricing & Modelling, Financial Planning & Analysis, or Tax.
  • Finally, you will spend 12 months within operational finance where you will be required to go on site to understand the way our teams work so you can make an impact in your role.
  • At the end of the scheme, you could become a junior finance business partner before moving to finance business partner upon qualifying.

Training and Support:

  • We will provide a wide variety of training opportunities to develop your skills.
  • You will gain exposure to different areas of the business and opportunities to increase your network.
  • You will be encouraged to complete your CIMA or ACCA qualification while on the scheme.
  • You will be supported through structured placement reviews and regular meetings with the Early Careers team.
  • From day one, you will have a buddy, usually a graduate in the year above.
  • You will have the opportunity to join our mentoring scheme.
  • You will also be able to join our employee-led networks, including our Young Professionals Network.

Impact and Career Progression

We are looking for the next generation of graduates who will continue to innovate in our chosen markets, to transform our products and manage the services delivered to customers. As a graduate, you will work on the front line, gaining exposure to the people, processes, and technology that are transforming our business.

The graduate scheme carries real responsibility, work that is relevant and central to our business, and the opportunity to make a big impact early on in your career.

At the end of the scheme, you will have developed the skills and knowledge to go into a Junior Finance Business Partner position. Many of our graduates continue to make a big impact in our Business, including our current CEO for our Digital & Energy Services Division.
