Job Description

About The Internship
Meow Wolf is proud to provide one of a kind experience to university students through our internship program. We are currently working on building a Meow Wolf exhibition in Los Angeles, CA and are looking for creative, passionate interns to join our installation team to take this exciting project to completion.
This is a part-time internship with no more than 29 hours per week and is expected to be in person at the Los Angeles project site. Students will be paid $18.00 per hour and will be working with company leaders and experts in their field.

What You Need To Apply
- Enrolled at a LA-based college or university.
- Live within commuting distance of Los Angeles for the internship time period.
- Discretion. Many of our projects are still a secret.
- Commitment and self-directed initiative.
- Availability for the entire Internship duration from June 8th-August 14th, 2026
- This is a part-time position, to be within the hours of 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. PT Monday through Friday.
Creative Intern
Creative Producers, Creative Directors and Art Directors are responsible for shaping the way in which a project comes together. In partnership with the Creative Direction team and Art Direction team, the Creative Producer manages the entire creative process from Blue Sky through installation. They are responsible for “the business of creative,” making sure that resources (time, money, people) are available to the team so that they can deliver the project on time. Creative Directors are responsible for developing the creative vision of the project and partner with Creative Producers on delivering the scope on schedule and on budget. Art Directors define materiality and finishes on a project, in close partnership with Creative Direction.
The Creative Intern will assist the Creative Producers in managing communication, coordinating the creative team’s workflow, and scheduling budget and schedule reviews to ensure the implementation of the creative vision is on track. They will also support the Creative Direction team in coordinating aspects of the installation to help ensure the installation is successful. The intern’s capability to work with a wide range of artists and executive leaders will be an important part of the job. Confidentiality is also essential to interns working in this role.
Duties
- Assist in the creation and management of work plans and schedules.
- Schedule meetings, create agendas, and take notes with after action plans.
- Plan for off site reviews with creative leaders and vendors.
- Prepare presentations in PowerPoint, Google Slides or Keynote that will be shared with other team members, executive leadership, the media, or the public.
- Work with collaborating artists to ensure installation is on track.
- Evaluate staffing plans to make sure the right people are in the right place at the right time.
Learning Goals
- How to create multiple types of presentations for various audiences including presentations for the public and media as well as confidential presentations for the CEO and executive leaders.
- Importance of scheduling creative team members, resource allocation and managing to a budget and schedule.
- Learning the business side of the art and entertainment industry and the skills needed to successfully manage the creative process.
- Learning how a collaborating artist works with Meow Wolf and the design, fabrication, and installation process of those projects.
- Learning the challenges and workflow of installing on an active construction site.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and scanners. This position also works in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, strong visual effects including strobing lights, special effects, fog machines and small and/ or enclosed spaces.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical ability to walk, stand, take stairs/slides/elevators, and navigate the elements during the day and night. Employee may be required to remain in a sitting or standing position for prolonged periods, and repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
