The Tone:
This is a contract role at Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, located in Wailea, HI. The Grand Wailea is a Forbes 4-Star, AAA 4-Diamond luxury resort consistently ranked among the world’s best. This role is crucial for delivering exceptional guest service by leading engaging and safe recreational activities for children, ensuring a memorable stay for families at the resort. You will contribute to the financial profitability of the hotel while creating outstanding experiences for young guests.

• Mission: Lead and direct children through supervised recreational activities in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Childcare Activities: Provide exceptional childcare activities and direct children aged 5-12, occasionally 13-17 during busy seasons, through various recreational programs.
• Guest Registration & Service: Greet, register, and check guests in and out of camp sessions and specialty classes, resolving challenges and promoting hotel services.
• Activity Instruction & Preparation: Plan, create, set up, and instruct stimulating and educational activities, including craft workshops, swimming, hula lessons, and art classes.
• Safety & First Response: Act as a first responder for water rescues, medical emergencies, and render First Aid and/or CPR, ensuring the safety of all guests and employees.
• Sales & Operations: Sell snacks and drinks, make concession items like shave ice and popcorn, process payments, and maintain the cleanliness of facilities and snack stands according to DOH requirements.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High School Diploma. This is a role focused on direct childcare and recreation within a luxury hospitality environment.
• Experience: At least 9 months of experience working with children aged 5-12 years old.
• Skills: Childcare and activity leadership, customer service and guest registration, cash handling and payment processing, First Aid and CPR, facility cleanliness and maintenance.
