Job Description: Corporate Development Intern

Houlihan Lokey’s Corporate Development team, reporting directly to the CEO and CFO, plays a crucial role in driving the firm’s continued growth through operational efficiencies and strategic acquisitions. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to these efforts on a global scale.

Responsibilities: The intern will be involved in a wide range of activities, including:

Acquisition Support: Assisting with all phases of the acquisition process.
Origination Support: Contributing to the identification and evaluation of potential acquisition targets, including market research, target profiling, and pipeline management (using Salesforce and Pitchbook).
Post-Acquisition Analysis: Tracking the performance of completed acquisitions, analyzing precedent transactions, and preparing reports for management.
Process Improvement: Developing and maintaining databases, processes, templates, and reports to enhance the efficiency of acquisition and other strategic projects (examples include precedent transaction databases, target lists, and presentation templates).
Presentation Preparation: Creating presentations on corporate initiatives for senior management.

Qualifications:

• Junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics (preferred).
• Prior professional internship experience is preferred.
• Strong interest in a career in investment banking or finance.
• Fundamental understanding of financial modeling and analysis commonly used in M&A, and familiarity with accounting principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (essential due to frequent interaction with senior management).
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
