Corporate Communications Manager | Dish Network

The Tone:
This is an in-person role at Dish Network, part of EchoStar, a company focused on reimagining the future of connectivity. EchoStar delivers communications that bring families and communities together through its diverse brands, including Boost Mobile, DISH TV, Sling TV, Gen Mobile, and Hughes. This position is central to shaping the brand’s story and leading an evolving industry, using communications to reach consumers in new ways. The Corporate Communications team, where this role sits, works cross-functionally to communicate organizational stories to journalists, thought leaders, and industry experts, telling DISH’s unique story.

• Mission: Develop and execute integrated communications strategies that engage media and drive subscriber acquisition for key business lines.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategic Communications Planning: Develop strategic, targeted brand communications plans aligned with business needs, simplifying complex ideas and driving strategic planning initiatives.
• Cross-Functional Storytelling: Partner with Marketing, Programming, Product, and Operations teams to develop compelling stories that amplify leadership and brand position, serving as a communications subject matter expert.
• Media Relations and Content Management: Manage proactive media programs, secure earned media placements across national, local, and trade outlets, and oversee the creation of PR materials including press releases, pitches, and blog posts.
• Performance Analysis and Advisory: Manage campaign reporting to develop future campaigns based on insights, and serve as a trusted communications advisor to the company, providing feedback to executives.
• Team Leadership and Development: Manage, train, and develop other corporate communications team members, overseeing cross-functional resources and fostering a collaborative approach.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, communications, marketing, or a similar field. This is a manager-level role requiring core domain knowledge in corporate communications.
• Experience: 8+ years of professional PR/communications experience, specifically in consumer PR, with a background developing and delivering strategic media relations campaigns for consumer tech products. This includes extensive experience in writing various media materials such as news releases, blog posts, pitches, and speeches, alongside creating engaging social media content. Proven ability to build media relationships across tech, business, and consumer outlets, lead cross-functional teams, manage agency resources, and direct other team members is essential.
• Skills: Solid grasp of AP style with the ability to draft all media materials accordingly. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including strong media relations. Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills, combined with strict attention to detail, strong organizational, and project management abilities. Proven capability to transform data, reports, and analytics into strategic recommendations.
• Bonus: Experience using integrated social media tactics to supplement PR activities.
