Coordinated Campaign Intern | New York State Democratic Committee

The Tone:
This is an internship with the New York State Democratic Committee, located in New York State. The Committee is dedicated to electing Democrats across all levels of government. This role is crucial for supporting field organizers in volunteer recruitment, managing community outreach, and ensuring accurate voter contact data, directly contributing to the success of Democratic campaigns.

The TL;DR

• Team: Reports to assigned field organizer(s)
• Mission: To assist field organizers with volunteer recruitment, management, and voter outreach in local communities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Drive: Achieve established field goals, including traditional grassroots voter contact metrics.
• Execute: Help organize and carry out regular civic engagement events, information sessions, and tabling activities.
• Support: Assist assigned field organizer(s) with recruiting, managing, and escalating volunteers.
• Maintain: Uphold strong data integrity standards, ensuring all recorded data is accurate and timely.
• Contribute: Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the team.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Dedicated to electing Democrats up and down the ballot. No prior experience is required, as all interns will receive training on core skills.
• Experience: No specific experience is necessary; comprehensive training will be provided to ensure effective execution of the role.
• Skills: Demonstrates creativity and a willingness to explore new ideas, possesses a highly organized and independent work style, exhibits a strong ability to multitask and communicate effectively, and has strong interpersonal skills including the capacity to build relationships, listen actively, collaborate, and lead with respect and professionalism.
