Program Overview & Eligibility

Our 2026 Summer Internship Program, commencing in June 2026, offers immersive training and a comprehensive introduction to Santander. You will combine structured training with practical experience, developing both technical and interpersonal skills throughout the internship.

  • This program is designed for undergraduate and/or graduate-level students.
  • Candidates must have an expected graduation date between December 2026 and May/June 2027.

Location

Santander US operates nationwide. This specific internship position is located in Boston, MA.

Compensation

The base pay for this internship is $52,000 per year. This represents the annualized salary range for a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and location.

What You’ll Experience as a Consumer Insights Intern

You will gain invaluable exposure to the inner workings of one of the world’s largest financial institutions. Working with best-in-class teams, you will contribute to projects that drive innovation across the organization. As part of the internship program, you will also participate in structured professional development opportunities, build connections with peers, and meet leaders across Santander.

As a Consumer Insights Intern, you will gain a deep understanding of how customer intelligence informs real-world business decisions for brand and product marketing. You will receive direct experience in key disciplines including:

  • Survey questionnaire design
  • Research targeting, sampling, and fielding
  • Online research community management and moderation
  • Reporting and analysis

You’ll be exposed to qualitative and quantitative research methods, insight synthesis, and the crucial skill of translating data into actionable business recommendations.

Key Responsibilities (May Include but are not Limited to)

  • Assist the Senior Associate in the day-to-day operations of our online research community.
  • Assist in the research design and implementation process, including project intake form creation, research quality assurance (QA), and reporting.
  • Ensure that the Consumer Insights Research Library is meticulously maintained and updated, as required.
  • Synthesize key consumer insights and learnings for cross-functional reporting.
  • Undertake special project work related to strategic initiatives within the bank, including marketing/customer experience (CX), product development, and global initiatives.

What We’re Looking For (Required Qualifications)

  • An undergraduate student with an expected graduation date between December 2026 or May/June 2027.
  • Area of Study: Business, Marketing, or Market Research.
  • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Strong curiosity about people and a genuine interest in understanding human behavior, motivation, and emotion.
  • A conscientious and analytical thinker with a strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and courage.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken, are required.
  • Organized and able to manage time and multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently on special projects.
  • Ability to effectively contribute to a team environment.

Nice-to-Haves (Preferred Qualifications)

  • A “marketing mindset” – ensuring that work is approached with customer-centric, durable, strategic growth in mind. (Likely developed through coursework in or exposure to marketing, market research, statistics, finance, economics, or business.)
  • Experience with AI tools (e.g., intellectual/productivity pursuits) is a bonus.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office products. (Preferred)

Compensation & Benefits

The base pay range for this position is $52,000/year and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and location.
