Job Description

Computer Vision Engineering Intern | Cruze

The Tone:
This is an internship at Cruze, located remotely. Cruze is a virtual infrastructure platform that optimizes commercial fleet logistics through active traffic control. The company models traffic as a controllable fluid system, building proprietary hardware-software integrations that allow commercial trucks to communicate directly with infrastructure. This role is crucial for developing the computer vision solutions that empower smart vehicles to coordinate within the broader network, improving traffic flow, eliminating congestion, and reducing fuel consumption across commercial fleets.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: Remote, United States

• Team: Engineering team
• Mission: Support the development of computer vision solutions to enhance traffic control and logistics efficiency.
• Tech Stack: OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Python, C++, Git

What You’ll Actually Do
• Algorithms: Design and implement computer vision algorithms for intelligent traffic and fleet management.
• Datasets: Work with image and video datasets, supporting their processing and analysis.
• Models: Assist in the training, evaluation, and optimization of computer vision models.
• Integration: Collaborate with engineering team members to integrate vision models with hardware and software systems.
• Experimentation: Build prototypes, run experiments, and present findings to support project goals.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrollment in or recent completion of a degree program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field; foundational knowledge of computer vision and machine learning concepts.
• Experience: Familiarity with relevant computer vision and machine learning libraries or frameworks (e.g., OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Skills: Programming proficiency in Python or C++; machining or hardware-interfacing skills for sensors, cameras, and embedded systems; clear communication and teaching skills for technical concepts and documentation; ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Bonus: Experience with version control systems like Git and basic software development practices; interest in transportation systems, logistics optimization, or intelligent infrastructure.
