The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Jhpiego, located in Islamabad, Pakistan. Jhpiego, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University USA, is a global leader dedicated to improving healthcare for women and families. This role is crucial for raising Jhpiego’s profile, communicating its vital work to diverse audiences, and ensuring that the right information is effectively managed and disseminated to support programmatic success and strategic partnerships. The specialist will play a key role in highlighting achievements and supporting future funding opportunities.

• Team: Collaborates with Senior Management Team (SMT), Program Leadership, internal teams, and global backstop staff, supporting the Country Director.
• Mission: Responsible for raising Jhpiego’s profile and visibility, communicating its work to diverse audiences, and ensuring the right information is available for programmatic success.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategic Communications: Formulate and execute a comprehensive communication strategy and a corresponding documentation and dissemination plan in consultation with the SMT.
• Knowledge Management: Develop and implement a knowledge management strategy, organizing and cataloging knowledge assets into Jhpiego’s central electronic library and promoting knowledge exchange.
• Content Creation & Visibility: Develop compelling success stories, human-interest narratives, multimedia content, social media campaigns, and press kits to enhance visibility and position Jhpiego as a thought leader.
• Partnership & Funding Support: Support strategic partnerships through coordinated communication and visibility efforts, and provide inputs for new concept notes, proposals, and donor-ready documents.
• Capacity Building: Develop and conduct capacity-building activities for staff to enhance their ability to communicate project achievements, advocate effectively, and engage donors.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field, preferably with experience in international development or healthcare.
• Experience: At least 6-7 years in communications, public relations, knowledge management, marketing, and proposal development/advocacy support.
• Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, familiarity with communication and SBCC strategies, branding, media relations, and understanding of knowledge dissemination concepts.
• Bonus: A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
