COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING INTERN | The Aleut Corporation
The Tone:
This is a temporary/seasonal internship at The Aleut Corporation, an organization deeply committed to providing employment and development opportunities for its shareholders and descendants, located in Anchorage, AK. The role offers the flexibility of full-time or part-time engagement for a 10-week summer period, beginning in June 2026. As a Communications & Marketing Intern, you will play a supportive role in enhancing the company’s communication and marketing efforts, aligning with the mission, values, and strategic goals of Aleut. This position is designed to provide hands-on experience in various aspects of marketing, communications, and digital project management within a professional work environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Content Creation: Create and edit various marketing and communications materials.
• Digital Support: Support basic graphic design, web content updates, and digital media projects.
• Communications Initiatives: Assist with internal and external communications initiatives.
• Project Coordination: Organize and assist in implementing strategies for special projects.
• Internship Summary: Complete and present a learning summary to Aleut management at the conclusion of the internship.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career. Possess a High School Diploma or GED and be actively enrolled in a continuing education program (degree, vocational, or certification). Must be an Aleut Corporation Shareholder and/or descendent.
• Experience: No specific years of experience are required, but proficiency with Microsoft Office products is essential.
• Skills: Excellent oral and written communication, including speech writing, proper grammar, spelling, editing, and proofreading. Strong digital literacy, efficient in Microsoft Suite, and familiar with other common digital tools. Good interpersonal and public contact skills, with the ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Good organizational skills, with the ability to solve problems and exercise sound judgment.
• Bonus: Junior undergraduate, Senior undergraduate, or Graduate student. Demonstrated strong interest in marketing, communications, graphic design, writing, or web development.
