The Tone:
This is a full-time role at General Dynamics Information Technology, located in Washington, D.C. (Hybrid). General Dynamics Information Technology is a global technology and professional services company that delivers technology solutions and mission services to every major agency across the U.S. government, defense, and intelligence community. This Cloud Architect / Developer SME role is critical to designing, building, and securing large-scale Azure Government environments, specifically supporting mission-critical federal systems for the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). The position focuses on migrating and modernizing spectrum management systems within secure Azure Government and Azure Secret Clouds.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Architect: Architect secure, scalable Azure GovCloud infrastructures and network connectivity.
• Design: Design cloud-native data platforms, pipelines, and analytics architectures.
• Automate: Automate cloud provisioning with Terraform, ARM, or Bicep to ensure consistent, FedRAMP-compliant environments.
• Implement: Implement Azure AD, RBAC, least-privilege principles, encryption, and NIST-aligned security controls.
• Migrate: Migrate NTIA’s Unclassified Spectrum Management Systems to Azure Government and the NTIA Secret environment to the Azure Secret Cloud.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree, or equivalent experience. This is a senior-level Cloud Architect/Developer SME role focused on designing, building, and securing Azure Government environments, requiring one or more certifications such as Azure Architect, Azure Engineer, or CISSP. Must possess and maintain an Active Secret or higher clearance and US Citizenship.
• Experience: 10+ years of cloud engineering/architecture experience, including specific experience with Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and the Azure Well-Architected Framework.
• Skills: Strong expertise in Azure, Terraform/Bicep, networking, automation, and security.
• Bonus: Familiarity with Ansible, PowerShell DSC, and modern development tools/languages.
